"I Can't Help But Wonder" from "EPIC: The Musical" (Flute Arrangement)

This is my flute arrangement of 2nd to last song from "EPIC: the Musical" called "I Can't Help But Wonder". This is beautiful flute arrangement for the first of two emotional reunions that is played for Flute Trio on 3 C Flutes.

This song marks the beginning of emotional reunions as Jorge ties the final bow on this musical. This takes place after Odysseus claims his palace and rightful place as King of Ithaca from a roudy group of suitors trying to overrule his palace, kill his son, and touch his wife. After the gruesome palace massacre, Oydessus finally reunites with his now 20-year-old son, Telemachus. Telemachus expresses how he has thought about what his father would be like and now at a loss of words now that his father has returned. He wonders if his father would love and accept him after being away for so long and feeling alone without his father. Odysseus responded with joy and pride seeing how his son has grown into a brave prince and bright young man. He inquires what his son's world must have been like, hearing stories about his father but never meeting him until now. The two men embrace and cry together now that they are together again. While Odysseus sends Telemachus to inform Penelope of his return, he senses that his former mentor, Athena, is nearby. He enters into one final quick-thought where she feels guilt for abandoning him and wonders how the world could be if people showed more empathy. Odysseus explains as much as he would like to join her in making that world, he declines as he is ready to be with his family again. Athena sadly accepts his words before she leaves again. Telemachus returns again to inform his father that Penelope is waiting for him. One emotional moment before he goes to see his wife again. I hope you enjoy this cover!
