"Wait for Me (Reprise) from "Hadestown" (Flute Arrangement)

In honor of the Hadestown Proshot Premiere today, I share my official flute cover of the powerful anthem "Wait for Me (Reprise)" from "Hadestown". This arrangement is for Flute Octet/Choir with each part playing a certain character(s) filled with colors and harmonies.
 
Hadestown is a musical, written by Anais Mitchell, that tells the ancient myth about Orpheus and Eurydice and their love ending in tragedy. Mitchell originally wrote the music in 2006, and after many incarnations, it has been running on Broadway in the Walter Kerr Theater since 2019. "Wait for Me (Reprise)" is a powerful anthem leading the audience toward the end of the musical. Orpheus has been granted by Hades the opportunity to lead his love, Eurydice, out of Hadestown. But only under one condition: on their way back to the surface, Orpheus CANNOT turn around to see if she is behind him. He must trust that Eurydice is there and trust Hades that he isn't tricking him in the dark. They both believe they can make it to the end as long as Orpheus doesn't succumb to doubt. The workers look to them with hope that they can walk out and be together forever. Meanwhile, Hades and Persephone decide to give their relationship another chance, come the Fall, as it's time for Persephone to go up above for the Spring season. I've loved this anthem because it carries the feeling that, even though there is apprehension underneath, there is hope that the impossible can be done! 🎶🪈🩷🌹

Hadestown has been a special show to me, as I found the soundtrack in 2021 during my heartbreak era. I was mesmerized by the show's ability to blend classical, theatrical, and jazz music into one spectacular. Some moments I dance in my seat, and other moments I cry from the musical moments. Each actor brings deep emotion and energy to their respective character enough to keep me invested in the show from the beginning, "Road to Hell" all the way to "Raise Our Cups" at the end. Now that the Proshot is premiering today, I feel so happy to be a Hadestown fan! 🎶🪈🩷🌹
